Mom's College Cram Course has not disappeared. It's just that I have been spreading my wings as a blogger on college admissions issues for NJ.com -- and true to form, have struggled a bit in the past week with the mechanics of a more complex blog program.
But dear reader, you will continue to see my musings and concerns here. And please let me know what's on your mind when it comes to all things college.
This is an accelerated learning program, written by a mom who needs to find out everything she can about all aspects of the college admissions process. Yikes !!

- I am a communications consultant and writer (Karen Horton Communications and Ganesha Communications.) But here is what is really germane: it has been a few years since I tutored myself on the college admissions process. Now it's time to catch up on what has changed, what mistakes should never be made, how to remain calm, collected and connected with our teen throughout the next several years. It's only fair that you know about where I landed when I went through the process years ago. My first choice wait-listed me (eat your heart out, Smith.) I graduated from Duke, then years later received an MBA in marketing from the Stern School of Business, New York University. In my career, I have been a journalist (probably the most satisfying work), a public information officer, corporate communicator, PR agency account executive and now, small business owner. Our teen is a high school sophomore. There is much to learn as I develop the curriculum for Mom's College Cram Course.
